What is backlit fabric printing used for?

Customers mostly use backlit display fabric as silicone edge graphics which are used in backlit tension fabric systems. These systems use an industry-standard 14mm silicone keder strip, our finishing department sew this to all 3 edges of the fabric. This then inserts into the extrusion channel around your frame. Backlit fabric can also be used for wrapping custom frames & lightboxes.

What is Backlit Display Fabric?
Backlit Display Fabric is a specialized 100% polyester textile designed specifically for illuminated frames and lightboxes. Unlike standard display fabric, it features a unique coating and weave that diffuses light evenly across the surface, eliminating "hotspots" from LED modules and making the printed colors pop with incredible intensity.
How is this fabric different from standard display fabric?
Standard fabric is meant for front-lit environments (like banners). If you put light behind it, the image can look washed out or "thin." Backlit Fabric is engineered for "Double-Strike" or high-density dye-sublimation printing. This ensures that even when powerful LEDs are shining through it, the blacks remain deep and the colors stay saturated and true to your brand.
Can this fabric be used with Silicone Edge (SEG) frames?
Yes. This is the primary use for Backlit Display Fabric. We finish the edges with a sewn-in silicone keder (strip) that slots into the groove of an aluminum lightbox frame. The result is a perfectly flat, drum-tight, and frameless illuminated display that can be installed in minutes.
