This silk satin polyester fabric has a glossy, sleek face and a dull reverse. Fine, lightweight with a flowing feel, it is uncoated for paper sublimation printing and highly suitable for premium fashion and clothing garments. Please note textiles widths will vary +/- 2% from batch to batch due to variances in finishing/processing.What is poly-satin and how does it achieve a silk-look? Poly-satin is a 100% polyester fabric woven with a specific satin weave that creates a smooth, lustrous surface on one side. The "silk-look" refers to its high-gloss sheen and fluid drape, which mimics the light-reflecting properties of expensive mulberry silk while remaining much more affordable and durable. Is poly-satin the same as silk? No. Silk is a natural fiber produced by silkworms, whereas poly-satin is made from synthetic polyester fibers. While silk is highly delicate and often requires dry cleaning, poly-satin is "performance-focused"—it is stronger, resistant to fraying, and can be machine-washed, making it a practical choice for high-wear items. Does this fabric breathe well? Our silk-look poly-satin is a lightweight fabric (typically 80gsm to 100gsm designed with a breathable weave. While not as absorbent as natural silk, it feels cool against the skin and is incredibly comfortable for evening wear, bridal robes, and premium bedding.
